Alcoholics Anonymous is the world’s oldest, largest and most effective resource for alcoholics seeking recovery. Founded in 1935, AA is managed through local “intergroup” offices. Houston’s intergroup office serves one of the largest local recovery communities on the planet. As the world moves into the digital age, AA needed a powerful set of tools to reach and serve a vast constituency of people in crisis.

Solution:

Espresso Moon was tapped to build a robust website for Houston’s AA Intergroup office, because of our deep technical background, our stability and longevity, and our commitment to serving the community.

The Houston AA website provides alcoholics seeking recovery with a broad suite of resources including access to over 2,500 local meetings per week, history and background of AA worldwide and in the Houston region, an online, e-commerce bookstore, information about using Intergroup’s facilities, connection to AA resources for prisons and jails, informational resources on recovery and more. The site incorporates a mobile app for locating meetings, as well as Q&A for self-diagnosis and a calendar of events in Houston and the surrounding area.

The site is visited by thousands of people every week, so security and a simple, effective user experience is critical. Espresso Moon hosts the website on secure servers and provides site maintenance as needed to keep content fresh and prevent bugs.
